Things to do

This page will be broken into three sections
- Food, Drinks, & Things to do -

As well as broken into three areas of Savannah
- Downtown, Midtown, Uptown -

Finally each item will be hyperlinked to where it is on the map!

Food

Breakfast/Brunch

Downtown -

  • B Matthews Eatery

A famous local spot but from memory they don’t take reservations and can be tricky to get in. So if planning on going here go early and be prepared to be on a list for ~1hr. So sign up then go walk around river street.

Midtown -

  • Collins Quarter at Forsyth

There are two locations and the other one is just as good but this one is a cooler location. Great brunch any day and one of our go-to’s for brunch

  • The Ordinary Pub

Just dig the menu (also could do dinner here if you were around)

    Uptown -

  • Perc

Our favorite coffee in Savannah and they have great breakfast and brunch options although limited.

  • Flora & Fauna

Newest brunch/breakfast/dinner spot in Savannah, from the same restaurant group as Common Thread. Fantastic food.,

Lunch

Downtown -

  • The Public Kitchen & Bar

Great spot for lunch and people watching if you sit outside or on the rooftop (also works for dinner)

  • Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room

Hole in the wall and very good southern food. It’s cash only, doesn’t take reservations, doesn’t do takeout orders

Uptown-

  • Green Truck Neighborhood Pub

Best burger in Savannah and everything is home made and the beef is local raised. Savannah staple

    • BONUS: If you go for lunch go to Picker Joes Anitque Mall after. Such a treasure trove in there and where I got a lot of the furniture for my house.

  • Bull Street Tacos & Foxy Loxy

Both great Street Taco Joints for a quick lunch

    • If you go to Bull Street Tacos check out Stump next door, great plant store

    • If you go into Foxy Loxy, really good book store next door, both great quick little lunch spots.

Dinner

Uptown-

  • Common Thread

YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE! This is literally our fav restaurant in town. But do make reservations

  • Brochu’s Family Tradition

Possibly the best chicken I’ve ever had, Michelin star chef.

  • Cotton & Rye

Solid all around, but def hit the two above before coming here.

  • DO NOT - go to The Grey. It’s famous but is bad. If anything go in for a cocktail or drink one night because the building is beautiful

Drinks

Downtown -

  • Peacock Lounge

Not as good as artillery but more downtown and also a great vibe in a basement. In most cities this would be the best cocktail bar in town.

  • Myrtle & Rose Rooftop

Great rooftop bar on River Street if you’re cruising around there close to the Mariot

  • Peregrin

Great rooftop bar for awesome views and a great frozay (frozen rose that’s well known in town)

Midtown -

  • Artillery

One of the best Cocktail bars in town full stop. Get the pickle cocktail - trust me.

Uptown-

  • Two Tides

Literally our favorite brewery of all time and close to my house.

    • BONUS: Not only is their beer to die for but the food truck downstairs “Crispi” is so fucking good. Get a crunchwrap from them, and it’s more of a snack then a full meal

  • Starland  Yard

Visit Starland Yard at the same time as Two Tides. There literally next door to each other. Starland yard has great beers and a ton of food trucks and is just a cool setup all around and usually have live music on the weekends.

  • Late Air

Great wine bar as well as some tapas. Great place for quite romantic evening

Also on the opposite side of town so a good pre or post place if you’re eating at Common Thread or Brochu’s

Things to do

Downtown -

  • Walk River Street

Def go to the JW Marriott while doing this (trust me)

  • While doing this or around River Street in General you have to go to Graveface Museum. If you’re going to do one museum in savannah make sure it’s this one because you won’t find it anywhere else.

    • “The Graveface Museum is an informative and immersive glimpse into the human condition through actual artifacts and decades worth of research on topics ranging from true crime, cults, sideshow history, 1950s roadside attractions, secret societies, and the occult. If you are interested in these topics and open to learning new things you are guaranteed to walk away with knowledge, stories, and experiences you can’t find elsewhere. - graveface website“

  • Leopold’s Ice Cream

Midtown -

  • History/Ghost Tour

You have to do at least one ghost tour whilst you’re here. Linked is the company I’d recommend and go for one at night obviously. And if you’re looking to learn more about savannah take a history tour during the day.

*Note- Savannah is an open carry city, so you can carry your drinks on the street*

  • SCAD story

A little exhibition that takes ~ 20 mins w/ regular shows going on throughout the day. Gives a cool little history on SCAD (Savannah college of art and design) and is really well done

  • Telfair Museum

This isn’t a European museum, but is still a good way to kill 45 min.

Note - There’s so many Museums and house museums in the city from the Juiliette Gordon Low house (founder of the girl scouts), to Sorrel Weed house(supposedly the most haunted house in savannah), to the military and civil war museums to even a railroad museum that’s supposed to be pretty cool.

  • Forsyth Park

    Market on Saturday morning/afternoon

Outside Downtown -
