Our Story…

It began with…

Hinge! Dating apps can be tough and time consuming, but they do sometimes work! Emily was in Charleston, and Jeremy was in Savannah, but somehow we matched! Although we didn’t realize we weren’t in the same city for a couple days, we decided to meet half way on Super Bowl Sunday. After a three and a half hour lunch, we both drove away with the biggest smiles on our faces, feeling like we were in a movie, and willing to give it a shot.

long distance…

Can be tough, but luckily for us the 2 1/2 hours between our two homes is accompanied by a lovely drive, and we both lived in such beautiful places that it never felt like a burden.

We made the most of it and spent time exploring our sister cities and getting to know each other’s friend groups and growing closer together.

We also did a lot of the following to pass time until we could move in together…

Food

We likely spend entirely too much money on food and bev, but it’s something we both deeply love. It’s also been a great way to discover our cities and other places we’ve traveled to.

Be it finding another James Beard restaurant in America or Michelin Stars in Europe. We don’t mind if a cocktail bar is on a roof, basement, or even an old horse stable.

We’ve waited in line hours for BBQ, but also spent hours cooking for each other.

Travel

We’ve been incredibly lucky to travel to many different places and have had numerous adventures throughout our time together.

Our first trip together was up in the Northern Georgia mountains around Tallulah Gorge.

This was followed by our first trip overseas together to Ireland to meet some of Jeremy’s family and introduce Emily to the place where Jeremy became a man.

We have spent time up around Asheville and done the Biltmore at Christmas. Traveled to Orlando with friends for Halloween Horror Nights. Been to Atlanta for some of our best days and concerts together.

Spent time in Arkansas where Jeremy grew up before going overseas, and relaxed in Louisiana with family at the Lake House.

Finally we just got back from our latest out west where we got engaged! A brilliant trip from Colorado where we saw our first concert together at Red Rocks, then up to Jackson Hole and the Tetons, and finally four days in Yellowstone before spending a few days in Portland with friends.

Music

Luckily we have a similar taste in music and both love to see it live. Music has acted as a sort of connecting tissue for many of the other things we love. It gives us an excuse to travel to places and spend great quality time together as we explore those locations with all they have to offer .

Heck, going to Red Rocks to see one of our favorite bands was the impetus for us to plan our road trip out west which is where we got engaged.

If you see any throughline from Food to Travel to Music, you’ll see that Emily and Jeremy love to spend the best of time together and squeeze the lemon of life for all its juice.

We are so lucky.

Emily and Jeremy are so so grateful to all our friends and family on both sides. You’ve made us feel so welcomed and loved from the first second we started intertwining our lives.

If it wasn’t for all of you there’s no way that we’d be as strong, close, or comfortable with all the decisions we’ve made along the way.

We can’t wait to continue to grow with all of you around us and deepen all our connections and relationships.
